Michal Auction Service
Michal Auction Service is a family
owned and operated auction business based in Flagler, Colorado. Michal
Auction Service conducts onsite auctions of all types, including farm, real estate, business
liquidation, household, estate, antique, and benefit auctions.
Auctioneering began in the Michal
Family with Frank Michal. Frank graduated from the Missouri Auction School in
Kansas City, Missouri in 1913. In addition to farming, Frank also worked as an
auctioneer until his voice was damaged by illness during the 1918 Spanish Flu
Pandemic.
Michal Auction Service began in the
late 1940s after David Michal started auctioneering, following in his father
Frank's footsteps. David and his wife Gwenn initially operated
the auction service. In the early 1970s, David and Gwenn's son, Jim, joined his
father as an auctioneer after attending and graduating from Reisch Auction
College of Mason City, Iowa. Years later, Jim and wife, Beverly became the
primary operators for the auction service with the help of their four sons.
Today, the principal auctioneers are Jim Michal and son, Jake Michal, and their
families continue to help work auctions. In addition to auctioneering, Jim and
Jake also farm and ranch in the Flagler area.
To facilitate real estate auctions
and sales, Jim maintains a Real Estate Associate Brokers license with Goodman
Realty Company, Inc. of Akron, Colorado. Additionally, Jim is a personal
property appraiser and conducts real estate valuations, and Jake is a state
certified general appraiser.
With Michal Auction Service all sellers receive prompt
settlement and a complete list of items sold. We do not use buyer premiums.
Michal Auction Service takes pride in building a business relationship with
both the buyer and seller that has integrity, fairness, and honesty for all.
We truly believe in our motto:
“Pleasing You, Pleases Us"
